The immigration services of the Embassy of Finland in Damascus are moving to Ankara

The immigration services of the Embassy of Finland in Damascus are moving to Ankara effective 31.01.2012. Following the relocation, the Embassy of Finland in Damascus will no longer accept new visa or residence permit applications. Applicants with applications submitted prior to 31.01.2012 and whose cases remain pending are requested to make an appointment at the Embassy of Finland in Damascus in order to pick up their decisions.

After the relocation of immigration services, all visa and residence permit applications submitted by applicants belonging to the countries covered by the Embassy of Finland in Damascus should be submitted to the Embassy of Finland in Ankara (http://www.finland.org.tr). The Embassy would like to take this opportunity to remind applicants that citizens of Lebanon and those permanently resident in Lebanon can also apply for visas at the Embassy of Austria in Beirut which represents Finland in visa matters in Lebanon, and citizens of Jordan and those permanently resident in Jordan can likewise apply for visas at the Embassy of Norway in Amman, which represents Finland in visa matters in Jordan.

From the 31.01.2012, the Embassy of Finland in Damascus will continue to offer consular and passport services by appointment only. An appointment can be made by calling the consular section’s telephone service (tel: +963-11-6127574, open from Monday to Thursday, from 08.30 to 10.00) or by e-mail (sanomat.dam@formin.fi).
